In clinical manifestations there was no statistical difference (P > 0.05) in both controls. The mean ACT level of Fluticasone at discharge was significantly superior to Beclomethasone (P = 0.03).

Conclusions: Teleconsultation is an effective tool for monitoring chronic diseases such as asthma. Both Fluticasone and Beclomethasone achieved optimal disease control, highlighting that the true determinant of good control is the continuous use of any ICG. However, a significant statistical difference was found in favour of Fluticasone; nevertheless, due to its lower price, the cost-effectiveness ratio favours Beclomethasone as a cost-effective and efficient option for optimal asthma control.
2024-02-13T10:43:32-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 ACTA MEDICA PERUANA http://54.39.98.165/index.php/AMP/article/view/2722 Quality of care and user satisfaction in an Emergency Service of a Social Security Hospital 2024-03-20T19:10:11-05:00 Miguel Angel Arce Huamani maarcehuamani@gmail.com Ricardo Alberto Aliaga-Gastelumendi maarcehuamani@gmail.com
Introduction: The quality of care and user satisfaction in an emergency service has become a priority concern for patients. The data was presented using tables and graphs.

Results: The dimensions of the quality of care such as reliability, responsiveness, security, empathy, and tangible aspects, it was found that 49.25%, 67%, 72.25%, 54.25% and 55.75% agreed with the care provided, respectively. In the user satisfaction variable, 50.25% of users agreed. The experts made observations that were taken into account, leading to a second round. Subsequently, the pilot test was applied to 260 beneficiaries over 18 years of age, both sexes, where the participants made suggestions about the instrument, for which a second pilot test was carried out. In the quantitative evaluation, internal and external validity was estimated through construct validity, reliability, stability and criterion validity. Finally, an instrument of 9 domains (marriage, expansion, dispersion, independence, withdrawal, dismemberment, increase, demoralization and disorganization) with 52 items was constructed. Results: An instrument was validated to evaluate normative and paranormative crises with discriminatory capacity, yielding different variances and a positive Pearson correlation. Reliability was 0.965 through Cronbach's alpha coefficient and Cohen's Kappa index 0.843 for reproducibility. The linear regression model confirmed its efficacy in predicting normative and paranormative crises. Conclusions: An instrument was built and validated, which will allow the evaluation of normative and paranormative crises.

2024-02-13T01:36:13-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 ACTA MEDICA PERUANA http://54.39.98.165/index.php/AMP/article/view/2658 Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial of Two Surgical Techniques for Primary Pterygium in Jungle Patients: Cauterization versus Suturing. 2024-03-20T19:10:12-05:00 Gioconda Armas Herrera gioco.armas@gmail.com Luis Felipe Arévalo Arévalo gioco.armas@gmail.com
Objective: To compare two surgical techniques for excising pterygium, by evaluating postoperative symptoms and the incidence of recurrence. Methods: Randomized controlled clinical trial with two parallel groups and a single-blind design involving eighty patients with primary pterygium from the Ophthalmological Clinic of the Jungle. The first group considered the autograft fixation technique with bipolar cautery (n=40), and the second group considered the conventional autograft fixation technique with sutures (n=40). Symptoms were assessed at 72 hours postoperatively, and recurrence was evaluated at six months. Results: At 72 hours post-surgery, 6% of patients operated with the electrocautery technique exhibited symptoms, compared to 41% of those operated with sutures (p < 0.05). Recurrence was observed in 1 case in the electrocautery group and 4 in the suture group (2.5% vs. 10%, p < 0.05). Conclusions: The cautery technique demonstrated a more favorable recovery, with fewer symptoms and recurrence compared to the conventional technique. These findings suggest that the cautery technique may be more effective and better tolerated in patients in this study.
2024-02-08T00:02:08-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 ACTA MEDICA PERUANA http://54.39.98.165/index.php/AMP/article/view/2662 Candida parapsilosis endocarditis without vegetations at Echocardiography: a case report 2024-03-20T19:10:10-05:00 Natalia Vargas-Herrera nataliavh84@gmail.com Jose M. Of these, C. parapsilosis has been described as a cause of endocarditis in native valves of intravenous drug users and prosthetic valves. Although systemic lymphomas are better known and studied, primary brain lymphoma has been less understood due to its low frequency until a few decades ago. The treatment of this disease continues to be debated. On this occasion, the unusual case of large B cell lymphoma NOS associated with hydrocephalus and its management is reported.
2024-03-03T00:20:02-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 ACTA MEDICA PERUANA http://54.39.98.165/index.php/AMP/article/view/2679 Neurosurgical management of epidural abscess after traumatic brain injury: a case report 2024-03-20T19:10:11-05:00 Héctor Mijail Lizarraga Valderrama mijail89@hotmail.com Fernando Fernández Chafloque mijail89@hotmail.com Luis Michilot Ramos mijail89@hotmail.com
Cranioencephalic trauma is an event caused by force on the container that holds the brain content, which causes inertia to cause acceleration and deceleration injuries, producing hemorrhages and/or fractures; These can generate a series of complications such as epidural abscess which, being very close to the brain, constitutes an emergency for its management and follow-up15.
